I'm getting a netbook (since i dont need a regular computer) to hook up to my tv via HDMI solely to watch movies/tv/hulu etc. Is it worth paying the extra money for an HD screen on the laptop? Will it transfer better to the TV? Thanks

not worth it just get a laptop with a good hd capable graphics card

More resolution for the same physical size? Always worth it.

Depending on what I'm doing, 1920x1200 isn't nearly enough.

no it's not worth it in your case. obsidian86 is right, get a decent gpu.
