I have formatted disk and created new partitions by windows XP-2 Setup Disk
but when setup displays 'Installing windows components ' it displays remaining time 34 minutes but it takes above 15-18 hours to completion.

My PC has P4-2.4GHz
Intel 845 MB
HDD 40GB formatted and created all new partitions
RAM 512+128MB checked
CD R/W checked

Replace the hard-drive, and get your RAM up to at least 1 gig for decent XP performance.
