I am having some serious issues with my computer....

The CPU will start up, fans spinning, onboard lights blinking, but won't detect my monitor's DVI signal and DVD-ROM drive won't open and close. Because it won't detect my monitor I can't change any settings in the BIOS whatsoever. I only have DVI inputs on my video card but I tried hooking up both VGA and DVI outputs from my monitor with an adapter, still nothing. I have no clue what else I could do...

Any thoughts? Video card, power supply issues? Any help would be very greatly appreciated!

I would go through every step in the checklist. #2 on the list is the most common mistake.
