Hello,
Quick question. This was my first build in a long time and I made a mistake. I ordered 6gb crucial ddr3 triple channel ram for a Msi 790fx board. I know this is a mistake now as the board supports on dual. My question is instead of RMAing the ram and paying a 15% restocking fee can I just remove one stick and run dual channel? Will it run dual? Or will it just screw things up?

Build: MSI 790fx, amd phenom ii x4 965, xfx 5850 BE, samsung spinpoint f3

yes you can but i would get my money back and get a 8g from corsair

Hi.

1- Solid build, except for the RAM. Why? Even if you only install 2 sticks, the CL is very high (CL9) that isn't good for DDR3.
2- A very good RAM for your needs is this G.Skill 1600 CL7 or G.Skill 1333 CL8 both
