With all my FPS issues as of late, I have decided to ask you all what you think about some changes I have been thinking about:
My system
ASUS Striker Extreme MB
BFG 8800 GTX OC-crapped out, now have referb BFG GTX 260 OC2
Creative Fatal1ty pro series SC
WD Raptor SATA 150GB 10,000 rpm
Samsung SuperWritemaster dvd/cd
intel core 2 duo e6600 2.40ghz 1066 MHz FSB 4mb L2 cache
Raidmax volcano 630w modular psu
razer dethadder mouse

ive re-installed xp 4 times now, and its cleared up most stupid issues freezes etc., but my fps is still low (less than 1/2 what i used to get) after my 8800 crapped out and BFg keeps sending me referbs, blah blah blah.

I am thinking of going with dual gpu's maybe the GTX 260 OC2's
OR one GTX 280, or 285 OC2 or X. Then of course upgrading my PSu to a BFG 1200 or something comparable/modular that could handle 2 GPU's if I ever decide to go that route.

So what do you guys think of the system and the upgrades in store.? compatibility, performance, suggestions/experiences, etc.

1200 watts is overkill ....a "well made" 850 watter will handle most twin card setups...say up to twin 260's or 5770's

So the rest is pretty compatible then? Ive read so much about the dual gpu's being the same as one 280 or 285, then others say dual 260's are way better, just looking for some hard facts and true experience from the ones in-the-know.
