Safest limit to oc athlon II 240?

this is my rig:

athlon II 240 2.8ghz
mobo-asus m2n68-am se2
9500gt 1gb
2gb ram
500 watts "generic" psu

i oc'ed it and im happy i got 3.0ghz..now my question is what number should i place the multiplier since i left it in auto??or its not necessary??

it depends on your cooler, and your heat, mainly heat... keep watch over your heat, if its reaching 70C leave it where you are, just keep going

im oki with this frequency 3.0ghz,..im thinking on what multiplier ill use?its in auto for now

Set the multiplier manually.

Try to stay under 1.5v for 24/7 use, and keep it under 50* load if you can. You can do whatever you want (your chip), but those are the guidelines I use when OCing Athlon/Phenom chips.

Phenom II and Athon II CPUs typically like to stay below 60C under full load with P95, OCCT or Linpack stress testing. Many people prefer 55C as a max full load temp as they have seen errors above that temp. Each CPU is different but these are good CPU temp. guides for OC'ing.
