SATA to PATA laptop optical bridge?

I just got a Blu-Ray drive to replace the DVD drive in my laptop (Dell XFR D630). I made the mistake of assuming that because the hard drive interface was SATA, the optical drive would be as well. The first pic below is the port on the new drive (SATA), second pic is the old drive (PATA?) and the third and fourth pics are the bridge that was on the old drive.

Is there an interface out there that would let me use the new drive?

Anyone able to say what the Dell bridge is? I'm not even 100% sure what I'm looking at here, and what I should exchange the LG drive for.
