Please help! I bought a computer on Cl but the p.word does not work and it will not let me boot in safe mode or just type in administrator - :(

What type of computer is it? I always recommend afresh install of Windows on a used computer to insure I know it does not have any viruses or other problems. Your computer might have a recovery partition to reinstall XP back to the original settings.

It is a dell but what is a recovery partition?

The recovery partition has a compressed copy of the C drive as it shipped form Dell. Depending on the model, you might be able to access it by hitting Ctrl+F11 as soon as you turn it on, or you might need to access the boot menu with F8 or F10.
