Newegg Has a sale on CPU coolers right now. I can get the Hyper 212+ for $20.80 or Hyper 212 EVO for $28. Is the 212 EVO worth the extra $7.40?

Yes. The EVO has a better direct contact base than the 212+. It beats the Hyper 212+ at cooling by several degrees. For a few extra bucks, it shouldn't hurt.

The review I saw said they perform identically. Go for the $20 plus version.

I believe the only real difference between the two versions is that the evo has the heatpipes touching each other, while with the plus they aren't.
