More about hard disks choose boot
  1. Most newer motherboards support that through a function key like F8 or F12 at POST. Even my older Asus P5W DH Deluxe does. I usually leave a single hard disk connected when installing a new OS. Selecting which unit is the boot device is easy and removing a hard disk won't impact the other OS.
