An external drive with a built-in fan. I researched quite a few off the shelf externals, and finally decided to buy an enclosure with a fan and put a hard disk in it. Here are the parts I used:

AND

I have two of these as described above working flawlessly for over 18 months. I use them primarily for video storage and for regular and frequent backups. They have an AC adapter and I like the built-in fan in the enclosure. Easy to assemble.

Ok I have an Western Digital External Hard Drive Model # 1200BB. It has a USB port. I think maybe I am wrong I need a drive that has a Sata port & not a USB port?? Am I right about that, cause I do have a Toshiba DVD recorder, & it doesn,t let me record. From what I know Sudden Link doesn't allow stuff to be recorded. They have some kind of copy right however I think with a External Hard drive I would be able to copy movies?? Can you repond to let me know??
