Okay, so I haven't seen anything about this on the forums, but I might have missed it, and I quickly looked in the Graphics/Display section and it seemed mostly Graphics and not displays, so I thought I would ask here.

I plan to build a new build around the turn of the year (holidays and such) and I can probably ask my in-laws to get me a monitor for about 300-400. I plan on gaming and would likely like to play at max settings, and keep everything clean and fresh, and nice looking (in game and on my desk). It would also free up some cash for a better system. I plan on building with a new 5xxx DX 11, but just dont know where to start. I have had a few Dell monitors in the past and now have an iMac, so I haven't looked in a while. I am thinking I would probably want something less than 30 inches, but I have never actually played on anything over 22", so maybe huge is worth it.

Just wanted some opinions, and I haven't really seen a new revolution in monitors, so I wanted to get a feel so I know what to ask them for.

Thanks all in advance.

Let me know if I should post about this closer to buying as well, but I think this will likely be picked up around Black Friday, if the deals are there.

Sorry, I just know there are international helpers out there. I am in the US and it will be purchased in the US. It can be either online or brick-and-mortar.

Thanks for the reply!

That Hanns looks nice. Can someone tell me the benefit of contrast ratios?

The Hanns-g will be well worth the price for a 1920x1200 28"

I've been wanting to get the Samsung XL2370 23" LED LCD, but Samsung is very vague on launch date, supposedly this month....

I've only heard good things about the dell 2209wa, though I'm not sure what dell is doing with them since they've been out of stock for about 3 months.
