I presume that you know the admin user name and password. Is there an active firewall that could be blocking the connection?

The login box that comes up with will be expecting a user name in the format of...

"PC-name"or"DOMAIN"\"Username"

Some examples

MYPC\Administrator
MYDOMAIN\User.Name

is the PC that you are connecting to a domain or just a member of the workgroup?
