Athlon II X4

hey guys i dont know much of computers but what i do know is that ATI Radeon HD 4870 is a good video card. The thing is that I bought a PC with Athlon II X4 620 with 6GB RAM, and as a motherboard I think it has something called NVIDIA GeForce 9100, which i dont know wth that is. I would like to know if the ATI RADEON 4870 will work in my computer, thank you very much.

yeah it works , but to me 6 gb ram is much . 4 gb is enough. as a board u can choose 785g chipset .

yes, but you will need to disable the nvidia drivers before installing the 4870

He isn't running any Nvidia drivers helial, unless you meant the chipset drivers? I wouldn't uninstall those. Assuming you have a PCIe 16x slot, you can use whatever card you want.

Check your psu wattage first, though. The 4870 uses a fair amount of power.

I am assuming that MB has IGP, which will be using Nvidia graphics drivers that should be disabled before installing an ATI card.
