Xfx 8200 cant get sata ports 5 and 6 to work do i need to use raid ?

so im setting up a system with a bunch of sata drives and i cant get a 5 th or 6 th sata port to read a device , the ports are white instead of black like the first 4 sata ports, im wondering what the trick is , raid ? or a bios setting ? separate sata controller driver ? anyone know

Those ports are only active when you turn on RAID mode.. They are off in SATA mode.

ok thanks for the answer couldn't find that in the documentation anywhere . not the answer i was looking for but i will just have to go other ways to get more hard drives in there
