955BE posts error in prime 95 even at 2ghz...

No matter what frequency or voltage i try at LEAST one core shows an error within about one minute of testing. This is the second chip (RMAd the first) that has done this. Can anyone think of anything that would cause this of am i just unlucky?

Could be a memory problem, not a cpu problem.

As above - get Memtest86+ and let that run for a few cycles before assuming that the problem lies with your CPU....

Do not blame everything on the CPU. If your CPU is busted, you won't be able to boot in the first place. Check your memory first for stability.

What part of Prime95 are you executing: the small fft test (to test the CPU) or the blend test (for memory)?

it only happens in the small ftt test. I lowered the memory to 800mhz, raised the voltage to 1.7 and loosened up all the timings. if i run large the large ftt test it will run for hours.
