Ph II 965 140w vs Ph II 965 125w

Hm, If you had the Phenom II 965 140w version already do you think it's worth a up "side" grade to the 125 version? Seen some people on other forms doing it and woundered what others thought? Worth the money? or waste of money?

No, its not going to relate to performance and you won't save back the money from the electric bill.

Complete waste of money, if your lucky you'll be able to overclock another 100-300mhz, some people still report being unable to get past 3.8Ghz.

There has been some inventory flushing lately with some vendors blowing out the 140w version. I picked up a 965 BE with a nice Gigabyte board for $200 about a month ago from Fry's. combo was less than the normal cost of the processor.

No, I wouldn't recommend it. With variation in chips, you may have gotten one of the 140W ones that is as good as a 125W one, and even if you didn't, it definitely isn't worth the money and hassle.

Yeah that's what I thought, seems be more of a waste of money, than a real benefit.
