Upgrade or leave alone

built a gaming comp last december and was xtreamly pleased with results especailly for first time build, my ? is , is there anything i can add to my system to upgrade it or should i just leave it alone. my system specs are as follows, mobo-gigabyte ep45-ud3p...psu-corsair750 w... cpu-intel q9550... 8 gig mushkin 5-4-4-12 ram only runnin 6 gig right now one stick no good... vista 64bit premium...seagate barracudda 1tb hd...ati 4870 1gb video...24'' monitor running 1920+1200...nzxt case...after market cpu fan, cant remember the brand right now. would i get any better perf with another 4870 1gb in xfire? plays crysis everything set to ultra. any advice would be greatly apprecieated.

There's not much else you can do at this point... that computer will last you a good while before you need to trade in parts. If you didn't know though, LGA 775 socket is in the process of being phased out. So, later on, upgraded parts will turn into a fully new rig. Sure, you can get another 4870 if you wish, wont hurt anything. Up to you though, either save or spend.

thanks for the reply fullmetall didnt know if there was anything new i could add or replace very happy with it right now have to look into xfire see if its worth the expense

The crossfire performance has been getting better thanks to steady improvements in the drivers. Still it just depends on what games you are going to play as to how much of a benefit you will get with a second 4870 card. Of course, prices on them are so low now that it is most certainly worth it. Anyway you should definitely replace that bad stick of RAM so your system can run in dual channel, and you should consider overclocking your CPU if you wish to improve performance.
