I have a peculiar problem in my PC. It is always giving CMOS error after stratup. I tried changing the Battery but it doesn't work. I have removed the CMOS Jumper out from the mother board while my PC is ON and the PC suddenly got switched OFF after 5 sec's. The PC did not start even by pressing the front panel power button and no lights were glowing. I have checked the power supply in SMPS supply connector but +5V and +12V supply was not available. Supply restored only after placing the CMOS jumper. This shows that the CMOS Battery supply is Ok but the CMOS error is displaying and Why should the supply go OFF with CMOS jumper removed. Can any one Please help me in this. You can Mail me at leninbharath@yahoo.com.

f the jumper is in the correct position, go into the BIOS, select the default settings and save it. If that doesn't help, then you might have to flash it again. SL2W8 has a good question. Why did you remove the jumper while the PC was on?
