Windows wont finish logging off
Last response: in Windows XP
my computer is stuck in "windows logging off" It has been like this for two days!! My computer had been shutdown by a power outtage two times and I had difficulty restarting it - it would just beep and not restart windows - you could hear it running, but nothing would come up on the screen. After about 30 restart attempts, it finally restarted Windows. An automatic update attempted to restart my computer and that is how I got stuck in "Windows logging off...." mode. Help!

Help!Try a Windows system restore to date prior to the events you describe.
If no success, hope you have Windows CD to repair install.
