I have an Orion 37'' LCD HD TV 720p at the minute it is paired with a Nvidia 9500GT. why o why delila can i only get this terrible resolution of 1280 x 7xx on the screen, everything is massive , windows are huge, the start bar is an inch thick on the bottom of the screen !!! when i increase the res using the nvidia software (latest drivers by the way) the refresh rate drops to 27/29hz and wont let me increase past this (i get it that lcds dont have refresh rates) and the screen does this horrible flickering that leaves the res unusable !!!!
The tv probably only supports 1280x720 (that's where the "720p" thingy comes from), which would indeed be horrible to watch if you use it as a monitor.
It's meant to be used as a TV, and most people sit 9-15 feet away from their tv, then the resolution won't look that horrible anymore. If you use it as a monitor and sit only 1-2 feet away from it than yes of course it looks horrible (ever tried watching an old fashioned tv from up close?)
Get yourself a 20" monitor and use that 37" the way it was meant to be used: as a tv.
