In my XPS 720 I upgraded the ram to 2 sticks 2gb each

in the dell bios it says the memory speed is 667 while CPU z says each stick runs at 333mhz

memory channel mode is dual interleaved

is it true that pairing the sticks in the same color dimm is faster?

my ram sticks are in dimm 1 and dimm 2, both have beige hinges while the dimm3 and dimm4 are black

does dual interleaved multiply that speed by 2 or something?

can my mobo 680i sli use ddr3 memory?

You have DDR2 RAM - Double Data Rate 2 x 333 = 666.66666

I can't find a pic of your board, but yes, you generally want the RAM in the same color dimm slots to realize dual channel

No, that's what DDR means (see above).
