Hi there,

I recently sent my faulty BFG 275 GTX OCX back for a replacement (RMA). Today I recieved a GTX 280 as the replacement :/

From looking at the specs on the website, this seems like a huge down-grade, what do you guys think?

Here are the specs for the 2 cards:

275 OCX - http://www.bfgtech.com/bfgegtx275896ocxe.aspx

280 - http://www.bfgtech.com/bfgrgtx2801024e.aspx

Thanks for all you're help!!

I would recommend they immediately exchange it to a GTX 275 OCX, it is faster.

The only differences are the memory bit (512 bit (GTX 280) or vs 448 bit (GTX 275 OC) and the GTX 280 having a few more gbs of bandwidth on the memory.

To be honest I would contact BFG and ask for the 275 OCX. The core/memory is faster.

I'd probably keep it. They might not have ant 275's left

Well even if thats true they would have to give him a equivalent card. According to most warranties now a days if the same model cannot be supplied, a product of equal or greater performance will be supplied (or a refund given back at the current market value at the discretion of the manufacturer). No where in that warranty does it state the giving of an inferior product.

Hell that is against the law in the USA :P... Gotta love consumer protection acts :)

Hmm, yeah I didn't think the slightly faster memory was any match for the 275.

I thought they had to give me an equal or greater card to...although i don't live in the US (I'm in the UK), but I don't see why it would make a difference.

I will contact them now ^^

Thankyou for you're help!!

O.o I was trying to say he got ripped off... :S sorry if I gave the mixed message. I was giving him the warranties must give a product of equal or greater performance otherwise they go against federal laws.
