Hello all! My notebook recently broke. I taken out it`s hard drive and noticed that it has two connections which are same to desktop`s hard drive and one more connection which consists of four pins. I wonder could I connect it to my desktop PC? I have a 6GB/s/3GB/s sata cable, Asus P7P55D-E motherboard, Nexus RX-8500 PSU and power cable which came with the PSU. Thanks for good answers, in advance.

Hello,

The 4 pin power cable is a Molex connector. Check the SATA connections first. the SATA data connector is where your SATA cable plugs into. There is also a 15 pin SATA power connector which is used for power normally. If you have both types of power connectors on the drive, you don't want to plug in BOTH the molex power connector and the SATA power connector. Just one or the other.
