Hi, I'm setting up my old gaming machine for my little brother to play with. The specs are as follows:
CPU: Pentium 4 3.0Ghz HT 1MB Cache
RAM: 1.5GB DDR2 800Mhz Ram (I just upgraded an extra 1GB laying around)
GPU: 9500GT DDR2 512MB 128-Bit
The latest game I played with this system was CoD4 and I got 50FPS on average on medium settings, so the system can handle games.
What games can it handle that are ACTUALLY good to play ranging from 2005 and above? The games I used to play are games like Total War, AOEIII Call of Duty 2 etc etc and I was getting extreme high FPS.
What other games can I get to install on this system?
I think a better way to go about this would be to find games that you consider to be 'actually good,' and then ask if your system can run them. In my personal opinion StarCraft: Broodwar is 'actually the best game ever,' and its system requirements are :
# 90 MHz Pentium or equivalent
# 16 MB of RAM
# SVGA video card that supports DirectDraw at 640 x 480 resolution, 256 colors
# 80 MB HD space
# 4X CD-ROM drive
Mac OS X 10.3.9 or higher
# PowerMac or Compatible
# 16 MB of RAM plus Virtual Memory (32 MB RAM recommended)
# Video card that supports 640x480 display in 256 colors
# 80 MB HD space
# 4X CD-ROM drive
According the YouGamers, and the "Game o Meter" I clicked on one by one and Pentium 4 / 512MB / 6600 is most games miniumem requirments. (apart from high end games like GTA IV etc.)
