My multiplier keeps changing help!

I got amd athlons dualcore 2.41 ghz and its mutliplier is suppose to be sen on 12x (2.41 ghz) but its set on 2.5(ghz)
so i changed it in the bios to 12x and everything went fine for 6 months, then it suddenly chanegd back to 12.5 after about 30 mins. this started to happen when i cleared my chache with firefox so I blame it.

I'm not trying to overclock my cpu btw, just to balance it but it keeps changed after I leave bios.
