I asked this in the memory forum, but didn't really get the answer I was looking for, and I know that people who are in this one do a great job, so I thought I would ask here.

I am upgrading the RAM of an old Dell desktop. Dell's website says that the computer can use up to DDR PC3200 400 MHz. So we picked up a 1gb stick of that. However, the original computer only came with 256mb of RAM (at 333 MHz). I put both in, for max RAM, 1.25, but because of the limitations, the full 1.25 runs at 333 (as has been mentioned time and time again). Anyway, I was curious which is the better configuration -

(1) 1gb of 400 MHz or
(2) 1.25gb of 333 MHz?

Thank you in advance!
