I just bought a motherboard that has ATI Radeon HD 4200 as it's on board chipset. I was wondering what the nvidia equivalent was. Also I was wondering whats better the 4200 or a Radeon X700

The integrated 4200 is slightly better than the X700 which is a mobility card, its about equivilant to an integrated nVidia 9300/9400. It is the second strongest IGP out there, second only to the HD 3300 available on 790GX boards.

I'd second that, or a 9400gs

Review of the 785G board which has the 4200

that hierarchy chart places it directly across from the 9300/9400, and its almost identical to a 3200, it just has a few slight tweaks that dont affect performance much.
