I ordered a new 2.6MHz Fujitsu laptop N3010 and it is arriving in 2
days. It comes with 512MB (2x256MB) installed. I'd like to upgrade the
RAM to either 768MB or 1024MB. My question is, can I use any maker's
DDR PC2100 • CL=2.5 • Non-parity • DDR266 • 2.5V • 64Meg x 64 module?
I see modules for sale that were originally for HP or IBM etc. Can I
use one of those in my new N3010. What is the maximum RAM that can be
installed in the 2.6MHz N3010?
TIA,
-cadjak

Thanks for the link. I was a bit confused because the place that I
bought the laptop listed the maximun as 768MB. It turns out, that
although the N3010 will support a Max of 1024MB, the largest amount
that Fujitsu actually ships these with is 768MB. Now I need to find
out which RAM will actually run well on this laptop. I'm financially
tapped, so buying from Crucial or Fujitsu is temporarily impractical.
I see all sorts of good brand 512MB modules on EBAY that are PC2100
CL2.5 64x64 just like what is presently installed in the laptop. I
just would prefer to avoid unpleasant surprises if possible.
Thanks,
-cadjak
