External hard drive 2.5 or 3.5

Which is better for traveling?
I know the 2.5 is smaller, but I mean which can stand car rides with bumps shaking etc.? I don’t intend to use the hard drive while traveling, but I’m still worried about physical damage, and I wonder if one is sturdier than the other?
It doesn’t bother me so much that the 3.5 is bigger, and if it travels well I might buy a 3.5 drive (SSD is not an option).

Most 2.5 drives are designed with laptops in mind so I think they can withstand a little more vibration. If you have a few drives in mind, check the specs. It should list it's g-shock rating.
