I'm searching for a second advice on building a pc for recording I have a list of things I've chosen and would like some feedback and make sure I have things straight, any help would be appreciated.

You should really be looking into quad cores on that budget unless your programs cannot multi thread. I would personally go with an i7 system. You can get a cheap MB since you don't need advanced video options. Your priorities should be 1. Processor 2. Memory 3. Cooling 4. Hard drives. What sort of recording hardware and software do you plan to use?

In that case go with an integrated video chipset and hit a quad? If open to AMD option you could nicely hit a x4 945 95W TDP really like such:

I plan on using protools v.8 with a mbox 2 interface.


Would this cpu be good or would could i find one cheaper. Would the memory I've chosen be good enough? and what MB, and video card would you suggest.
