Hello,

I'm interested in builiding a mini-workstation for 3d applications, My primary software is Maya, Zbrush....modeling/animation/rendering, so obviously performance is important. Currently I'm looking at:

- Motherboard : Intel DX58SO Extreme Series X58 ATX Tri-Channel DDR3 16GB SLI or CrossFireX LGA1366 Overclocking Utility Desktop Board - Retail

- PC Memory : Corsair TR3X6G1333C9 XMS3 6 GB 3 x 2 GB PC3-10666 1333MHz 240-Pin DDR3 Core i7 Memory Kit

- Graphic Card: PNY VCQFX1800-PCIE-PB NVIDIA Quadro FX 1800 768MB GDDR3

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ [...] R&v=glance

- Cooler Master Centurion 590 ATX Mid Tower

http://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Maste [...] 303&sr=8-1

- Monitor Samsung 23inch p2370 Full-HD

your links are broken

but in general an intel made mb is not as configurable as a good asus or gigabyte and often they are more expensive

I would go with this MOBO... ASUS P6T SE ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d.html [...] B0028MKK0S ), and if you buy with the i7 920 you get an extra $70+ in savings.

I noticed no PSU or Hard Drive listed. Do you plan on reusing these from a previous build/PC?

I would go with this Antec EA500 500 watt PSU... http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d.html [...] BJY&sr=8-1

You want to stay with either Corsair, PC Power&Cooling, Antec or OCZ for your PSU.

This deal is on newegg ATM

Antec Sonata III 500 Black 0.8mm cold rolled steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case + 500W PSU
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6811129024

$109

A classier and quieter case than the cooler master and the price is very good
