My old 8800GTS died on me and I RMA'd the sucker to EVGA and received a nice 9800GTX+ SWEET!
Or so I thought...
I have read all over the Internet about this bug affecting the p95 chipset. I have the p965 chipset so not sure if that is the same thing.
Since it's a Dell XPS 410 the BIOS settings are locked I can't adjust the voltage or anything like that to try and correct the issue.
My old GFX card worked fine! I have updated the BIOS, Cleared CMOS, updated chipset drivers, Reset the Bios (battery method) Cleaned and reinstalled drivers, Upgraded the Power Supply and even reinstalled the OS! Tried installing Vista, then no change so back to Win 7.
I have emailed EVGA but expect to get the run around. Dell won't even talk to me unless I give them more money.
Damn Dell and their friggen crap BIOS! (grumble grumble)
Has anyone ever heard of a hacked bios image to enable the voltage options in the Dell XPS 410 BIOS? I know its just a modified Pheonix Bios. just a thought...
Any Ideas?
