why huh? want to make sure that I'll get the right motherboard for 2 of these cards,I know they are pretty big...just want to make sure which motherboard is good for this set up.I read people had problems running 2 big cards in sli or crossfire and then they never had space for sound card.

First of all, the 3870, unless you've mistyped it more than once, is not the best card for the money. Second, a year from now, there will be a completely different card that's the best for the money. Two 3870s for $360? They're $75 each. The 4870 1GB isn't even $360 for two. Can you prvide a link so I know what you're talking about?

This is either a joke or the OP has been out of the hardware scene for a LONG time. Planning a build a year in advance is pointless. Hardware moves way faster than that. The best thing to do is start planning the build about 2 - 3 weeks before hand so you can compare CURRENT hardware. The 38xx series of GPU's was replaced by the 48xx series a long time ago. In fact, the 58xx series is supposed to be coming out soon.

Doesn't matter. That card will be old news a year from now.

Hmm why dun u just get 955BE and clock it and depending on your gaming resolution there are actually nice combos consisting of that chip and HD 4890 ^^

The 5870X2 will be out by the time you build. This thread is pointless.
