Soyo P4VTP Pentium 4 upgrade

I have a Soyo P4VTP computer that has a Intel Pentium 4 processor what processors could I upgrade to, as it is only a 1.6 Ghz processor currently?

    I would not waste money upgrading that old thing....$80 for a CPU that has been obsolete for years? No thanks. Save that money for a new build. The Pentium 4 was not a very good processor even when it was new. Lets see socket 478 has been obsolete since what.......early 2004 when socket 775 came out? Thats like 1000 tech years lol.

  6. The Pentium 5xx series were released in June 2004 so mid 2004 would have been a more accurate statement. So only 975 tech years ;) lol

    Semantics aside he has a socket 478 hes thinking of putting money into....not a good idea either way.

    Agree. I just remember that in like Late 2004 earliy 2005 that i build the computer i'm typing on now. I wasn't big on getting a powerhouse computer like i am now. ah oh well. thats the past.
