Amd x2 550 and ddr3

i just read that this x2 550 only supports up to PC3-10600 (1333MHz)!!

***, does that mean the 1600MHz i just bought cannot be used with the cpu??

well if u OC the proc it can supoort faster RAM

I think only the C3 stepping supports 1600mhz, and since the X2 550 is a C2 stepping I believe you'll need to run the ram at 1333mhz. You may be able to get 1600mzh to run if you throw more voltage at the cpu, but it'll probably limit your overclock if you intended to do that.

Well some cpu's they'll down clock the ram to run at controllable speeds. (im not sure if AMD cpu's do or not)
Or as upendra was saying that you could overclock some stuff to run the the ram.
