This massage gets displayed on my screen when i want to play my game,
Counter Strike. The game takes longer than usual to load, and as i start to
play, it crashes and this massage is displayed on my screen.

What does this mean? Is it serious? And can it be fixed?

Please help
Thank you

Googling "QueryDOSDevice failed led to threads like this:

QueryDosDevice is a Windows function used to look up mapped drive letters
(C:, D:, E: etc.) When you open Windows Explorer, are all of your drive
letters displaying normally and accessible? Are you running any third-
party drivers that use a drive letter for a special device? Have you
tried booting into Safe Mode?
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315222

And this:

"OK, I hate to tell you this, but I still don't know enough to help you, except to advise you that your system MIGHT be infected with some type of malware. The message you're describing might be adware designed to scare you into clicking on something... ESPECIALLY because you got this message AFTER opening Yahoo! Messenger..."

If neither of those turn out to be the issue, try google and scan the threads. Sorry, that's the best I can do.

The first thing that anyone should do is google an error message he doesn't understand. Then ask for help if you do not understand the answer.

Thanks for the come-back. I did go to Google and ran a surch on it. However they do not say
what the cause is.

But i will keep at it, and share whetever results i get.

Thanks again for the input
