Hi,

Will utilizing the “extreme memory profiles” on x58 boards automatically overclock the bclk?
For example using a: i7 920 & DDR3 1600 memory….
I want to overclock my memory to its manufacturer rating but leave everything else stock….

Thanks, do you know anything about the rumors of problems when running all six dimms @ 1600 mhz... Should it work fine if the memory i will be getting is on the qvl...
Mobo will be a rampage 2 extreme

Some chipsets and mobo implementations limit the total amount and speed of the RAM. For example, in a dual channel system, you can run 2-dimms @ 1600HMz but only run 4 dimms @ 1333MHz.

Haven't heard any such limit on the X-58 chipset but it would be best to check the mobo makers website and/or read the mobo manual to see if there are any such limitations or RAM disclaimer.
