Hi,

I just recently bought a Asus m3a78 Pro mobo and a cpu (Phenon II X4 945), but the cpu doesn`t arrived yet and i'm supposed to try the mobo. So I put on the mobo my old cpu, a Athlon 64 AM2 3200+. The test configuration is:

Athlon 64 AM2 3200+
m3a78 Pro
4gb ram Kington 667mhz
gf 7600gt ko

After build the pc i tried to boot it but for my surprise, it doesn't boot it all. When i turn it up firstly, the express gate couldn't boot, so i entered the bios and disabled it. Then I put in there my windows 7 dvd for formating the hard disk, and it start to dvd and displayed the message "Windows is loading files" but, when the bar comes full, it doesn't do anything. So i tried with a vista version, almostly the same thing happens, but, it doesn't stock, it try to start my old version of vista in the hd. Finally i tried to format with my XP OS cd, and when it is supposed to load files, it just reboot. I don't know if i'm doing something wrong. Can anyone help me? Is it better for me to wait the newer processor arrive for trying the mobo with the final version?

Ps.: I've updated the bios to latest version.

Best Regards,
