i have a dell inspirion 1501. i replaced memory and when i rebooted it won't run on battery anymore. battery lights say fully charged, but when i unplug AC windows tells me battery is dead and shuts down shortly thereafter.
after reading some threads sounded like i had a dead battery. i went on-line and bought a new battery (not dell, but designed to run on this make/model). i let the new battery charge overnight and in the morning tried to boot up without AC and nothing happends. if i boot on AC and then remove the cord it dies immediately with the new battery in.
thus i am thinking it is not a battery issue. any ideas?
