4 Ghz (or anywhere near it) is not going to happen

The G31/G41 chipset is an economy, entry level chipset with a limited FSB freq range.

It's a pretty good overclocker with CPU's that have a 200 MHz FSB and OK with CPU's that have a 266 MHz FSB. Unfortunately, it is a poor overclocker when used with the E8200 series because of its limited FSB. If you are very lucky, you can achieve a 10% overclock at the most.

Unless you get really lucky, you will not be able to push the FSB freq past about 360 MHz. I have 3 G'byte G41 boards. I can push the best of them to just under 360 MHz.

But we will try to get you as far as you can go. Start here:

It's for an EP35-DS3L but all the Gigabyte Core2 BIOS's are similar. Your G41 board will just have fewer available settings.

Take your CPU and memory voltages off Auto. Set your RAM voltage to manufacturer recommended value. Change your System Memory Multiplier from Auto to 4.0.

Now start the "increase FSB, test, increase CPU vcore, retest" cycle.

I do not think you will reach the max of 1.45 volt core voltage or 70 C load temps.

Someone I talked to here couldn't push his G41 board past 342 MHz.
