Votage problem? - MB wont boot with new memory installed

I currently have 2x1GB OCZ PC2 6400 memory installed on my Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe MB. I just ordered two more 1GB sticks but they wont boot when installed. I looked very closely and they have the same part number but the old memory is marked 5-5-5 12 and the new memory is 5-5-5@1.8v. The machine wont boot when I try to add the new memory to the two remaining slots so I took the old memory out and put the new memory in its place and it still wont boot. I get a long beep followed by two short beeps and no screen shows up.

Is the marking I identified above the reason? Can I use this memory and if so how.

Thanks for any help.

  1. I just bought a new set of memory fro my son's box...couldn't find an exact vendor match for the twin 512's so went w/ exact same timings / voltage specs from another vendor in 1 Gig size. Same problem....took old 512's out and bought two more 1 Giggers so i spent $44 more than i wanted to but the $44 was certainly not worth another 15 minutes of my time messing with it..
  2. I am having the same problem with my gigabit GA-P35C-DS3R. I have

    OCZ Gold 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model OCZ2G8002GK
    OCZ Gold 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model OCZ2G8004GK

a Q8300 processor. Before I upgraded the processor I was able to use all four sticks now I can only use 2 either set works but not both. Ive got newest bios and chip set drivers. Is making me crazy
