CPU Help

So I had a defective motherboard and had to remove my cpu. In the process I just realized I got a thin line of thermal compound on the pins of the cpu.....

Am I screwed, or is there a way to safely remove the compound?

Set up antistatic work surface and use a small paintbrush and isopropyl alcohol to clean the pins.
