i am building a computer and don't know if there is a diferance in types of proformance in memory . I could use some help with picking the most bang for the buck. so this is what i need, memory 2x 240pin DDR2-1066/800/667 DIMM, Dual Channel, Max Capacity 4GB.

There is a slight difference in performance, but not enough to spend 40-50% more. Most of the performance ram is simply set at a higher voltage in order to run faster. Your motherboard selection is sometimes more important for performance and overclocking.
