GPU: XFX HD 4870 1gb
MB: GIGABYTE MA790XT-UD4P
RAM: 2x2gb DDR3
LCD: ASUS VH222

I start it up for the first time.
The fans all spin. The gpu spins, the cpu fan spins, the case fans spin. I can also hear the hd spin

but theres nothign on the screen
and the keyboard doesnt light up.

Any advice/tips?

READ before posting about boot problems!

You have to do more than just read it, though. The chances are very good that you'll find your problem if you actually perform each step in the checklist. #2 on the list is the most common mistake.

jsc's breadboarding identifies assembly errors and tends to isolate which part, if any, is causing the problem.

If you fix it yourself, please let us know. And the same, along with what you've learned, if you don't fix it yourself.

ive gotten it to boot.
I just didnt plug in a cable or two.. D:

ya but now i have a problem with OS install...
cant install windows 7... or linux... or anything...

Hhmm, you did remember to set it to cd rom as first boot device right?

yea i solved this problem too
the os's were corrupted when i burned them.
ITS ALL GOOD FOLKS!
