Bios set to raid with only one drive, is this normal?

I was looking at the BIOS in my friends HP Computer, and i saw that the sata hard disk was set to raid mode, but he only had one drive, and he says thats the way it came. Is it supposed to be set to RAID mode or should it be changed to AHCI or IDE mode? Thanks! ![:)]( ":)")
