Just to confirm. The chipset of a cpu is not as important as the socket size? Also a motherboard can be clocked to match the fsb of your cpu? I do understand that not all motherboards can do that.Example if i have an 533 fsb cpu and buy a motherboard that says 800fsb will that work? i put those on there because those were the numbers i could remember. Thank you

Always use the "cpu support" section for your board on the manufacturer's website to see if a bios update is required before ordering a motherboard or cpu. For oem systems, I wouldn't upgrade the cpu as they don't bother with bios updates on many boards.
