Hi guys...

I would just like to ask which of these video cards would be best for my LCD monitor, which is this one:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] -_-Product

Would a:

GTX 250
GTX 260

HD 4850 1GB
HD 4850 512MB
HD 4850 1GB
HD 4890 1GB

work best?

Thanks.

GTS 250 or 4850 will max almost every game at 1680x1050

GTX260 or 4890 if you wanna future proof a bit.

There's quite a few games that kill my HD4850 @ 1680x1050 with even medium settings.

k thanks...

forgive me for asking this noobish question...but the LCD monitor above says that the recommended resolution is 1600x900...

Wouldn't it matter?

yes it does, first off all the 5xxx ati cards are new so they will be much fassters than the old 4xxx for the same price, they are directx11 compatible the 4xxx are not.
the better the card you get now the longer it will last b4 having to upgrade it later :bounce:

lol ur weird for a 1600x900 u need 5850 lol omg! 5850 is like GTX295 speed which total overkill.

Reply to rescawen

everytime some1 says overkill i laugh ....there is no over kill in pc parts

what about in 2 years time with the new game tech

when i buy i graphic card (as i have done for 24 years)they last 3-4 years before upgrading for me ..u have to think ahead when buying pc parts.... true the 5750 is ok as well

Hmm... for 1600*900 the 5750 or 5770 are good choices! But as SirKillAlot said. buy the best you can afford, the games in the future are not less demanding... But those two middle range versions mentioned are best in balance with your monitor choice. IMHO.
