K8 and am3 socket

im currently running my phenom ii on an am2+ motherboard and im planning on upgrading to an am3 socket mobo. will my cpu cooler still work even tho its specified for k8?

AM2+, AM3 sockets have same dimensions...Only the pin count differs...
So your CPU cooler will fit AM3 socket...

Gkay09 is absolutely right. I would like to ask you why you want to upgrade your motherboard since ddr3 ram and a new mobo cost enough money for practically no better performance
