Graphics Card Recomendation Needed

Hi ,

Im looking for a Card around the £80-£100 (UK) Mark, run games like Half Life 2 and new games, doesnt have to be at the highest settings, around medium is fine, im more of a casual gamer.

However it needs to be Max 10.5" to fit in my case, and as low power consuming and fan noise as possible....wouldnt mind getting a 3rd party fan to solve the problem.

The HD4870 should fit your budget and size requirements fine.

If you need something that requires a bit less power...go with the 4850.

If you can wait for a few more days...stick around and see how the 57XX Radeon series measures up though. Should be some very nice mid-ranged cards.

thanks dude, yh im not in a rush, when do these 57XX range come out, also i see on the Nvidia Cards theres these PhysicX cards incorperated on all there cards, does it make a big diff/improvment?

Do not pay more for physicX. There are like 1-2 games a year that fully utilize it. Not worth the extra cost IMO.

The new ATI 5XXX series should be out in a day or so. Not sure when actual supply will be avalible. Within the next 1-2 weeks probably.

I'm not sure when the lower end ones are coming out (sometimes they are a little later) but the high end 5870s are coming out now!
